Lena Willemark, born on May 12, 1960, in Evertsberg, Dalarna, Sweden, is a Swedish singer and composer. She grew up immersed in the traditional folk music of central Sweden and began exploring jazz singing during her studies at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm in the early 1980s. Her first solo album, När Som Gräset Det Vajar, released in 1989, earned her both a Swedish Grammy and the German Record Critics' Award. Willemark's collaboration with multi-instrumentalist Ale Möller began in 1990, leading to the release of Nordan in 1994. She also performed with the folk-jazz group Enteli from 1994 to 1995 and contributed to the stage adaptation of a novel suite by Sara Lidman at the Orion Theater in Stockholm between 1995 and 1996.
