Orquesta Estable del Teatro Colón, founded in 1925 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is one of the country's oldest symphonic ensembles. Created by the municipal government for the Teatro Colón, the orchestra was initially directed by Tullio Serafin and later by Erich Kleiber from 1936 to 1949. Under Kleiber’s leadership, the orchestra premiered notable works such as Juana de Arco en la Hoguera by Arthur Honegger in 1947 and La mujer sin sombra by Richard Strauss in 1949. The ensemble has collaborated with prominent figures like Arturo Toscanini and Martha Argerich. In 2007, it was recognized as the Best Symphonic Orchestra in Argentina by the Asociación de Críticos Musicales de la Argentina. Orquesta Estable del Teatro Colón has performed over 850 operatic and choreographic productions and 800 symphonic concerts.
