Solar Twins were an English electronic music duo from London, formed in the late 1990s. The ensemble consisted of Joanna Stevens and David Norland. Solar Twins were signed to Maverick Records by Guy Oseary after performing at the Viper Room. In 1999, the group released the self-titled studio album Solar Twins. The record included a version of the song “Rock the Casbah” by The Clash, which appeared on the soundtrack for the film Brokedown Palace. The recording also featured the track “Swayambhu”, which was used in the film The Next Best Thing. Following an attempt to record a second album, the duo became inactive due to creative differences. Norland subsequently worked as a composer for television and film, scoring projects such as Anvil! The Story of Anvil and My Dinner with Hervé. Stevens provided vocals for ensembles including Delerium, Conjure One, Paradise Lost, and Sleepthief. Stevens performed on the Sleepthief tracks “Here I Confess” and “Ariadne (The Dividing Sea)”.
