Donato Renzetti, born on 30 January 1950 in Italy, is a conductor who began his career as a percussionist at Milan's La Scala. He transitioned to conducting and won the prestigious Guido Cantelli Award in 1980. Renzetti has conducted many esteemed orchestras, including the London Philharmonic, Philharmonia Orchestra, and Tokyo Philharmonic. His opera performances have taken him to renowned venues such as the Dallas Opera, Opéra de Paris, and Covent Garden. Notable recordings include Rossini: Complete Overtures (1998) and Schumann's Manfred, which won the XIX Premio della Critica Discografica Italiana award. Renzetti has also been a professor of conducting at the Accademia Musicale Pescarese since 1987, mentoring talents like Gianandrea Noseda. He received the Premio Frentano d'Oro in 2002.
