Born on May 1, 1961 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, Saint-Joseph Gadji Celi, better known by his shortened name Gadji Celi, is a professional footballer. He was signed in 1980 by Stella Club d'Adjamé, where he played for two years before joining ASEC Mimosas, where he stayed from 1983 to 1986. The midfielder was then recruited by French club FC Sète, where he played for three seasons (1986-1989) in the second division before returning to ASEC Mimosas. At the same time, he made a name for himself with the national team, appearing from 1984 to 1992. In the latter year, as captain, he led the Ivorian team to victory in the African Cup of Nations. An outstanding footballer, he is also passionate about music. In 1986, he sang the glory of the national team with the title "Allez les éléphants 1 Caire 86", then repeated it two years later with "Allez les éléphants 2 Maroc 88 ". He followed this up with two more sequels in 1990 and 1992, again for the African Cup of Nations: "Allez les éléphants 3 Alger 90" and "Allez les éléphants 4 Sénégal 92 ". He also glorified his club, in 1989, with the song "Et Dieu créa l'ASEC" . Once his sporting career was over, he devoted himself entirely to music, unveiling several tracks: "Éléphant story" in 1993, "Affaires de femmes " in 1996, "Femme de feu" in 2000, "Accra 2008" in 2008, "Y a rien dans jalousie" with Rocky Gold and "Besoin d'amour" with Nesly in 2015. In 2016, he put the finishing touches to the album Points Sensibles and unveiled the single "Décalé Sérieux".
