Séka Yaba Joëlle, known professionally as Joëlle C, was an Ivoirian singer and songwriter born on July 13, 1970. She began her career in music as a backing vocalist with the Orchestre Acikongo in 1984 before joining the traditional-modern group TP Audiorama in 1985. Joëlle C released her debut album Ayela in 1996, marking the start of her solo career. In 2002, she gained significant recognition with the release of her fourth album Prends-moi c' l'amour, which won her the Top d’or award for Best Ivoirian Artist in the Variety category for 2003. Following this success, Joëlle C performed her first live concert at the Palais de la Culture in July 2006. Her final album Kita was released in 2007. Joëlle C passed away on February 14, 2008, due to renal failure.
