Gabin Dabiré, born in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, is a singer, guitarist, kora player, and composer. His early musical experiences included lessons from traditional masters of Burkina Faso's music. In 1975, he traveled to Denmark, where he was exposed to European and contemporary music. Dabiré co-founded the cultural association Futuro Antico in 1979, which published his collection of ethnic music from Western Africa. He released his debut album Kontômè (Spirits) in 1990, followed by Afriki Djamana in 1994. Throughout his career, Dabiré collaborated with various artists, including the Gregorian choir ‘Santa Cecilia’ and musicians like Giovanni Conversano and Daniele Malvisi. His work included recordings for The Fermi Paradox and collaborations with artists such as Manu Katché, Omar Hakim, and Lokua Kanza.
