Antti Lötjönen (born 18 April 1980) is a Finnish Modern Jazz double-bassist and composer from Kuopio. Lötjönen studied piano, classical trumpet, and electric guitar before learning double-bass during high school. Lötjönen’s interest in jazz was influenced by the music of Jaco Pastorius. He attended the Kuopio Conservatory and later studied at the Sibelius Academy. In 2003, Lötjönen joined the Ilmiliekki Quartet, which received several music awards and released albums including March of the Alpha Males (2003). Lötjönen performed with The Five Corners Quintet and collaborated with Timo Lassy, the Sun Trio, and the Verneri Pohjola Quartet. He led the group Antti Lötjönen Quartet East, which debuted in 2013. Lötjönen’s discography featured the leader albums Quintet East (2020) and Circus/Citadel (2022).
