Tanja Becker-Bender, born in 1978, is a German violinist from Stuttgart, Germany. Becker-Bender studied under Helmut Zehetmair at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg and later with Wolfgang Marschner, Wilhelm Melcher, David Takeno, and Günter Pichler. Her career began at age eleven, performing as a soloist internationally with orchestras like the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra and conductors such as Kurt Masur. Becker-Bender won awards including the Bunkamura Orchard Hall Award in Tokyo and the Premio Rodolfo Lipizer in Gorizia. Notable albums included Paganini: 24 Caprices for Solo Violin (2009) and Erwin Schulhoff: Works for Violin and Piano (2011), which received critical acclaim, including Disc of the Month by BBC Music Magazine. Becker-Bender held professorships at the University of Music Saar in Saarbrücken, the University of Music and Theater Hamburg, and the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
