Stefan Schilli is a German oboist born on August 20, 1970, in Offenburg. He began his musical journey at age 12 and studied at the academies of music in Trossingen and Karlsruhe before further training under Maurice Bourgue. In 1990, Schilli joined the Freiburg Opera House as first oboist, and in 1991, he was appointed principal oboist for the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. He became a member of the Avalon Wind Quintet, which won the German Music Competition in 1993. His international breakthrough occurred in 1996 when he won competitions in Prague and Munich and received the Brüder Busch Prize. In 2001, Schilli became an exclusive artist for ARTE NOVA and was appointed a professor at the Mozarteum University Salzburg in 2004. A founding member of the baroque ensemble L'Accademia Giocosa, his discography includes the complete Vivaldi oboe concertos and the 2007 album Vivaldi: Concertos pour hautbois.
