Violinist Jasser Haj Youssef is one of the most outstanding musicians of
his generation.
Prodigy of the viola d'amore, composer and conductor, he plays jazz,
classical and traditional music with artists such as Barbara Hendricks,
Didier Lockwood, Youssou N'Dour and Sister Marie Keyrouz.
Jasser Haj Youssef directed the Paris Chamber Orchestra, the Mediterranean
Youth Orchestra and his Sira Symphony Orchestra at the Philharmonie de
Paris and the Roman amphitheatre of Carthage.
His first album "*Sira*" is a reference record in the meeting between
jazz and Oriental music. The music of "*Sira*" is studied in national
education programs and performed on the most prestigious stages by the
Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonie (Belgium), the New Music Orchestra
(Russia), Debussy String Quartet & the Republican Guard Orchestra (France)…
Through his second album "*Resonance*", Jasser Haj Youssef has opened a new
way in the history of the viola d'amore (European instrument with
sympathetic strings that disappeared during the 18th century).
He had lectured at Harvard University and several international schools.
During his stay at the Château de Chambord, inspired by the work of
Leonardo da Vinci, Jasser created the album "*Reminiscence*" dedicated to
the viola d'amore and to art in general. A booklet rich in literature,
photography and calligraphy accompanies this complete and rare physical
album.
Jasser Haj Youssef volunteers for cultural and humanitarian organizations
around the world.
He received the Gold Medal diploma from the Arts-Sciences-Lettres academic
society for his entire career.
