Alexa Rodrian, born in 1966 in Munich, Germany, is a German songwriter, composer, and jazz singer. She began singing publicly during her school years at the Willy Graf Gymnasium in Munich, initially focusing on rock and pop before transitioning to jazz. After studying law, Romanistics, and musicology at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, Rodrian moved to New York in 1992 to study at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. Her debut jazz album, Living Jazz in a Room, was released in 1991. Rodrian returned to Munich in 1999, after which she released Blue Blood. In 2004, she moved to Berlin and founded the Shared Night concert series at B-Flat. Her subsequent albums include All Done and Dusted (2008), Mothersday (2013), and Mother Unplugged (2015). Rodrian has collaborated with notable artists such as Michael Alf, Konstantin Wecker, and Jens Fischer.
