Diego Felipe Bertie Brignardello, known as Diego Bertie, was born on November 2, 1967, in Lima, Peru. He began his career as a singer and actor, forming the pop-rock group Imágenes with fellow students from Universidad del Pacífico in April 1986. The band's first single "Los buenos tiempos" became a hit during the summer of 1987. In 1988, they released their debut album Nuestra versión, featuring successful tracks like "Caras nuevas", and "Una vez más". Diego Bertie left Imágenes in September 1988 to pursue acting. His acting career spanned multiple countries, including Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela, and Mexico. He starred in numerous telenovelas such as Canela (1994), Obsesión (1996). Fuego Azul, his solo debut album, arrived in 1997 and featured the single "Cómo cuesta amar." In 2003, Diego Bertie released his second solo album Cuando llega el amor.
