Eva Elin Rombo, known professionally as Elin Rombo, was born on January 29, 1976, in Katrineholm, Sweden. She is a Swedish operatic soprano who studied at De Geergymnasiet in Norrköping, Brandon University in Canada, and the University College of Opera in Stockholm, graduating in 2003. Rombo made her stage debut at the Royal Swedish Opera as Christa in Janáček's The Makropulos Affair. She performed lead roles such as Ingrid in Lars-Åke Franke-Blom's opera En herrgårdssägen and Euridice in Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld. At the Royal Swedish Opera, Rombo took on notable parts including Barbarina and Susanna in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, the First Lady in Die Zauberflöte, Frasquita in Bizet's Carmen, and Sister Blanche in Poulenc's Dialogues of the Carmelites. She also performed at the Frankfurt Opera, Salzburg Festival, and Berlin State Opera. Rombo was named Hovsångerska in November 2013 and received the Schymberg Scholarship award in 2010.
