AKLO, a Japanese-Mexican hip-hop artist, has carved a unique niche in the music scene. Born in Tokyo and raised in Mexico City, AKLO brings a blend of cultural influences to his music, reflecting his diverse heritage. He started his music career under the unit name "AKLO to Sora" with guitarist Teppei Sora, releasing their album AKLO to Sora in 2008. His solo career kicked off with his debut album The Package in 2012, which achieved significant success, topping the overall chart and earning him the title of "Best New Artist" by for that year. His track "Red Pill" (2012) from this album was also nominated for an MTV VMAJ. His discography showcases a prolific output with subsequent albums including THE ARRIVAL in 2014, Outside the Frame in 2016, and New Drug along with REGULAR in 2019. His EPs and a series of singles such as RGTO, which was nominated for both an MTV VMAJ and an SSTV MVA award, and "Catch Me If You Can"(2014) featuring KREVA, further exemplify his dynamic presence in the music industry. He released "221", featuring Zorn in 2024.
