SALU (born 1988 in Sapporo, Hokkaidō, Japan) is a Japanese rapper whose career began in the Kanagawa Prefecture, where he started writing lyrics at age fourteen. His breakthrough came with the release of the single "I Gotta Go / Homeway" in 2012, followed by the 2013 album In My Life, which established his presence in the alternative hip‑hop scene. In 2016, he issued the album Good Morning and Say Hello to My Minions, and the subsequent year saw the release of Indigo and the mixtape Good Vibes Only in 2018. His continued output included Say Hello to My Minions 2 and GIFTED in 2019, GOD LOVES YOU in 2022, and In My Arms in 2023. Singles such as "ZERO" (2020), "Love Dream Happiness" (2021), "TO-Get-Her" (2021), and the forthcoming "PICTURE PERFECT" (2024) have reinforced his presence on Japanese rap charts.
