Stagecoach was a five‑piece alternative rock band formed in Dorking, Surrey, England, in November 2003, with Luke Barham on vocals, Matt Emery on drums, and a rotating lineup of guitar, bass, and keyboards. The group began as a two‑piece country act before evolving into a full rock ensemble that blended indie rock, folk, and post‑punk elements. Their early recordings, including the self‑released EP School Day (2008), were produced in Alex Miles’ home studio and helped secure a contract with Alcopop! Records in 2009 after the band sent the EP We Got Tazers! to label boss Jack Clothier. Stagecoach released the single "56k Dial‑Up" (2012) and "Action" (2013), and their debut full‑length album Say Hi to the Band (2013) was produced by Rory Attwell and recorded at The Lightship 95 studio. The album was supported by the singles "Work! Work! Work!" and "Action" and preceded the band’s final performance at The Brixton Windmill on 21 December 2013. Stagecoach earned airplay on BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, and XFM, appeared on the EastEnders and Skins soundtracks, and performed at Reading and Leeds Festivals in 2010; the band disbanded the same year, with members continuing solo projects thereafter.
