Sophie Anna Magdalena Bevan, born in 1983 in Somerset, England, is a British soprano known for her operatic performances. Raised in a musical family, Bevan began her solo career at age 13 with the Berkshire Youth Choir and studied with Lillian Watson at the Benjamin Britten International Opera School of the Royal College of Music, where she received the Queen Mother Rose Bowl award. Her professional debut included roles such as Sophie in The Cunning Little Vixen at the Welsh National Opera and parts in baroque operas, Despina, Yum-Yum, and Léïla.
Bevan's career progressed with notable performances including Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Ilia in Idomeneo, and Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden. She has also performed at prestigious festivals such as Garsington, Glyndebourne, and Salzburg.
