Aspencat is a Valencian musical group from Xaló, formed in 2005. The group, led by vocalists Kiko Tur and Ivan Gosp, developed a style rooted in ska, reggae, and drum and bass, later incorporating electronic elements and dubstep. The band achieved early recognition by performing at the Arrels and Aplec dels Ports festivals, often supporting the influential group Obrint Pas. The band’s discography began with the 2007 release La festa està servida, followed by Obri la llauna in 2009. Their 2011 work, Naixen primaveres, marked a shift toward more electronic sounds and led to international performances at the Rototom Sunsplash and the Skaville festival in Croatia. Subsequent releases included the remix collection Inèdit (2012), Essència (2013), and their final studio album, Tot és ara (2015), issued through Halley Records. Following the La Història és Nostra tour, Aspencat became inactive in 2017.
