Rainer Trüby is a German electronic musician and disc jockey born in the 20th century. During a search for vinyl records in London in the early 1990s, he discovered jazz and soul music from the 1970s, which inspired him to collect and perform these genres. He worked as a disc jockey at the On You Club in Stuttgart, where he introduced the group Die Fantastischen Vier to samples used in the songs “Die da” and “Tag am Meer”. After moving to Freiburg im Breisgau, he collaborated with Bernd Kunz as the project A Forest Mighty Black and released their first single in (1994). Trüby curated compilations for labels including Talkin' Loud, Nuphonic, and Compost Records, for which he produced the Glücklich series. He formed the Trüby Trio with Roland Appel and Christian Prommer in 2001 and released the mix album Dj Kicks (2001). They followed this with their debut studio album, Elevator Music (2003). His discography also includes the albums Alegre 2004 (2004) and Retreated (2004).
