Denis Comtet, born April 30, 1970 in France, is recognized for his roles as an organist, pianist, choir conductor, and orchestra conductor. He studied under Gaston Litaize at the Saint-Maur-des-Fossés Conservatory and earned first prizes at the Paris Conservatory in organ and piano accompaniment. Comtet has performed on notable instruments, including those at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and collaborated with ensembles like the Maîtrise de Radio France. His discography includes André Fleury : Fantasy, Triptych, Prelude, Andante and Toccata, Carillon on Victimæ paschali laudes , Symphony for Organ No. 2 (1999) and Francis Poulenc’s Litanies à la Vierge noire with the Accentus Chamber Choir, which won the Prix Nouvelle Académie du disque in 1998. Comtet has also conducted a range of works such as Mozart’s choral composition Mass in C minor and Carl Orff's opera Der Mond.
