Dolly Dots, a Dutch girl group formed in 1979, consisted of Angela Groothuizen, Angéla Kramers, Anita Heilker, Esther Oosterbeek, Patty Zomer, and Ria Brieffies. The sextet gained prominence with their upbeat dance/pop style, achieving numerous hits across Europe. Their 1979 debut single "(We Tell It All About) Boys" marked the beginning of a successful career that spanned nearly a decade. Dolly Dots released several albums, including Dolly Dots (1979), American Dream (1980), and P.S. We Love You (1981). Notable songs such as "Radio" became popular in Japan, while "PD" reached number 50 of Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart in 1981. The group enjoyed success in various countries, including Turkey, Lebanon, Iceland, and Egypt. In 1984, they had their own television series and a Number 1 hit with "Love Me Just a Little Bit More (Totally Hooked on You)". Anita Heilker left the band in 1985 to start a solo career, leading the remaining members to continue as a quintet. The group's final single was an attempt to break into the UK market with "What a Night", produced by Stock, Aitken & Waterman. Dolly Dots disbanded on October 2, 1988, after a farewell concert in Amsterdam. Post-breakup, members pursued various careers, including television presenting and solo music projects. The group reunited for special performances and tours, notably in 2007 and 2020, but Ria Brieffies' death in 2009 marked the end of any further reunions.
