Lidia Baich, born in 1981 in Leningrad, is an Austrian violinist. She started her musical education at age four with her grandfather and later studied under Boris Kuschnir at the Vienna Conservatory. At eight years old, she won her first international competition, leading to victories including winning the Eurovision Young Musicians 1998 at sixteen and being named "European Musician of the Year" by Yehudi Menuhin. Baich performed with orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic and Berlin Symphony Orchestra. She appeared at festivals like the Salzburg Festival and Wiener Festwochen, and her discography features albums such as Violinkonzerte (2008) and Violin in Motion (2011). Baich received a professorship at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna and supported foundations promoting young musicians.
