Gerda Scheyrer, born on July 18, 1923, in Vienna, Austria, was a soprano singer and actress. She studied voice at the Wiener Musikakademie under Anny Konetzni and made her public debut on August 15, 1945, at the Wiener Konzerthaus. Scheyrer performed at various theaters, including the Stadttheater Steyr, Salzburger Landestheater, and Wiener Volksoper, before joining the Wiener Staatsoper in 1956. At the Staatsoper, she performed in 44 different roles, notably as Gräfin in Figaros Hochzeit and Leonore in La forza del destino. Her final performance was as Erste Dame in Die Zauberflöte, a role she sang 177 times. After retiring from performing, she became a professor at the Konservatorium der Stadt Wien. She passed away on September 22, 1999.
