Alma y Vida, a jazz and rock band from Argentina, was formed in 1970 in Buenos Aires. Initially serving as the backing band for Argentine singer-songwriter Leonardo Favio, they began their own project after Favio's hiatus. The group released their debut singles "Niño color cariño" and "He comprendido" in 1970, followed by their first album Alma y vida in 1971. Their second album, Alma y Vida Vol. 2 (1972), featured hits like "Hoy te queremos cantar" and "Don quijote de barba y gabán". Despite lineup changes, Alma y Vida continued to produce notable works such as the single "Salven a Sebastián" from their fourth album Alma y Vida Vol. 4 (1974) and Alma y Vida Vol. 5 (1976). The band disbanded in 1976 but reunited multiple times, notably in 2007 with a new lineup featuring Marcelo Baraj on drums.
