Jacques Hustin, born March 15, 1940 in Liège, Belgium, was a singer-songwriter. Initially interested in visual arts, he transitioned to music and won the First Prize at the Festival de la Chanson in Spa in 1965. His first EP Julie, coup de foudre was released in 1969. Hustin's career saw success with songs like "Marijuana" and "Fleur de liberté", which he performed at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974, finishing ninth. He participated in the opera-rock Hair from 1969 to 1971 alongside Julien Clerc. Hustin toured extensively across Europe, Canada, Africa, and Poland from 1976 to 1987. He retired from music in 1988 to focus on painting until his death on April 6, 2009. His notable awards include the Prix SABAM in 1966 and the Grand Prix de l’Académie Charles-Cros in 1969.
