Jacques Yvart, born on July 9, 1940 in Dunkirk, is a French singer. His musical journey began in the 1960s with songs inspired by maritime themes. His early career saw him performing at Bobino in Paris, where he opened for Georges Brassens in 1972. This collaboration marked a significant milestone, as Brassens performed "Jehan l'advenu", a song composed by Yvart to a text by Norge. Throughout his career, Yvart released numerous albums including Chansons Insulaires (1974), Yvart on Campus (1978), and Cache Cachalot (1989). He has collaborated with various artists such as Gérald Ryckeboer, Katrien Delavier, and William Schotte.
