Combo Colossale, a German Neue Deutsche Welle (NDW) band from Hannover, was formed in 1975 as Murphy. In 1982, after signing with Repertoire Records under the new name Combo Colossale, they released their breakthrough single "Puppen weinen nicht", which reached the German Single-Charts. Their self-titled debut album followed in 1983, featuring notable tracks such as "Julia" and "Herbei". The band toured extensively but faced declining popularity due to the waning interest in the Neue Deutsche Welle (NDW) movement. In 1985, Combo Colossale disbanded after internal issues and the departure of frontman Michael Flexig. The band reunited in 2002 for a few gigs to celebrate the band's 20th anniversary.
