Miguel Zavaleta, born 16 February 1955 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is a singer, songwriter and keyboardist who emerged from the local rock scene. He began performing at age twenty‑one with the band Bubu, later moving to Ibiza before returning to Argentina in 1981 to co‑found the pop‑rock group Suéter, where he served as vocalist, composer and pianist. Suéter released its self‑titled debut in 1982, followed by Lluvia de gallinas (1984) and 20 caras bonitas (1985), the latter produced by Charly García; the single "Mamá planchame la camisa" achieved significant radio play. After a brief hiatus, the band re‑emerged in 1995 with Suéter 5, featuring the hit "Extraño ser" in collaboration with Andrés Calamaro. Between 1989 and 2007, Miguel Zavaleta pursued solo work, releasing No lo sé, suerte quizás (2011) and Volver a nacer (2019), the latter containing material recorded in 1990 but shelved for decades. In 2023, he reunited Suéter with guitarist Jorge Minissale for a new live chapter, returning to the stage and setting up the band’s next phase of recordings and shows. 2025 saw the release of the single "Promises on the Bidet," an English language version of the Charly García classic.
