Suéter, an Argentine rock band formed in August 1981, emerged during Argentina's military dictatorship. The original lineup included Miguel Zavaleta on keyboards and vocals, Gustavo Donés on bass, Juan del Barrio on keyboards, and Jorge Minissale on guitar. Known for their eclectic sound blending pop rock, new wave, reggae, and rock and roll with humorous lyrics, Suéter released their self-titled debut album in 1982, followed by Lluvia de gallinas (Rains of Chickens) in 1984. Notable songs include "Amanece en la ruta" (1984) and "Extraño ser" (1995), which featured collaborations with Andrés Calamaro. Despite economic hardships and internal conflicts, Suéter reunited multiple times before disbanding in December 2007 following the death of Gustavo Donés. Their impact is recognized by rankings such as Rolling Stone's "100 Best Songs in the History of Argentine Rock," where "Amanece en la ruta" was placed at number 95.
