Alexander Ghindin, born on April 17, 1977 in Moscow, is a Russian pianist. At age 13, he won the Concours des jeunes pianistes de Moscou and began performing internationally. In 1994, he received a prize at the Xth International Tchaikovsky Competition, becoming the youngest laureate. He entered the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory under Mikhail Voskressenski while maintaining an active concert schedule across Europe, Asia, and North America. He made his U.S. debut in January 2002 at New York's Lincoln Center – Avery Fisher Hall with the Philharmonia Orchestra under Vladimir Ashkenazy. He recorded several albums and won first prize at the Cleveland International Piano Competition in 2007.
