Massimo Colombo, born on February 16, 1961, in Milan, Italy, is an Italian jazz pianist and composer. He studied piano at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan and began focusing intensely on jazz in 1980. Colombo turned professional in 1988, initially working with Attilio Zanchi before forming his own trio. In 1992, he founded the world music band Linea C. Notable collaborations include albums like Caravaggio (2005) featuring Billy Cobham and Jeff Berlin, and We All Love Burt Bacharach (2016) with Peter Erskine and Bob Mintzer. Colombo has released over 20 albums as a leader and contributed to numerous others. He is also known for his extensive compositions, including over 700 compositions across various genres, and his teaching roles at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi. In 2006, he became the artistic director of the Bià-Jazz festival in Abbiategrasso.
