Sean Conly (born 1970) is an American jazz bassist, composer, and arranger from Kansas City. He studied at the University of Missouri–Kansas City Conservatory before continuing his education at William Paterson University in 1992 under Rufus Reid and Todd Coolman. Conly relocated to New York City in 1994, performing with artists including Russ Lossing, Andrew Hill, Ray Barretto, and Freddie Hubbard. In 2000, he toured as part of the Newport Millennium Celebration with Cedar Walton and Randy Brecker.Conly released his debut solo album, Re: Action, in 2008. His discography as a leader or co-leader includes Think Shadow, Hard Knocks (2018), and The Buzz (2021). He performed with the ensembles Grass Roots and Anti-House, and contributed to recordings by Gregory Tardy, Joel Harrison, and Darren Johnston. Conly is based in New York City.
