Wojciech Młynarski, born on March 26, 1941 in Warsaw, Poland, was a singer, songwriter, translator, and theater director. While studying at Warsaw University, he began collaborating with student theatre and cabaret and by the mid-1960s, had established himself as an author of texts for numerous cabarets. His songs gained popularity on Polish Television in the late 1960s, and he also translated works by French and Russian poets and songwriters such as Jacques Brel and Georges Brassens. Młynarski wrote texts and librettos for stage works, including Henryk VI na łowach and Cień. His songs received a total of 25 "Karolinkas," awards from the Polish Song Festival in Opole. He released notable albums such as Dziewczyny, bądźcie dla nas dobre na wiosnę (1968) and Czterdziecha (2005). Młynarski died on March 15, 2017.
