Carol Lee Neblett, born on February 1, 1946, in Modesto, California, was an American operatic soprano. She studied at the University of California, Los Angeles before making her operatic debut with the New York City Opera in 1969 as Musetta in Puccini's La bohème. She performed leading roles with the company, including parts in Mefistofele, Prince Igor, and Faust. In 1976, she performed Tosca at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Notable performances included her role as Minnie in La fanciulla del West for Queen Elizabeth II's 25th Jubilee Celebration at Covent Garden in 1977 and her Metropolitan Opera debut as Senta in The Flying Dutchman in 1979. Her recordings included La fanciulla del West (1977). She died on November 23, 2017, in Los Angeles.
