Former five-person South Korean girl group EvoL (Korean: 이블)—aka Yull (율), Hayana (하야나), J-Da (제이다), Jucy (쥬시), and Saay (세) formed under Stardom Entertainment in 2012 and announced their arrival that year with their debut EP 폭파해줘! (Let Me Explode!). Galvanised by the single "우린 좀 달라 (We Are A Bit Different)" and its accompanying music video, the EP danced into the Top 20 and paved the way for the follow-up, Second Evolution, which dropped in March 2013 and rose to number 12 on South Korea's Circle Chart. With the exception of a mixtape release steered by Jucy, the group remained relatively quiet on the musical front over the next few years. EvoL unofficially parted ways in August 2015, following the departure of Yull, Hayana and J-Da. It was later revealed that the members' contracts had been terminated during Stardom's merger with Hunus Entertainment and they had reportedly been left in the dark.
