Liege Lord is an American heavy metal band from Stamford that formed in 1982. Originally established as a cover band named Deceiver, the ensemble was founded by the bassist Matt Vinci, the guitarist Anthony Truglio, and the drummer Frank Cortese. Their debut studio album, Freedom's Rise (1985), was released through Black Dragon Records. Following a contract with Metal Blade Records, they released the studio recording Burn to My Touch (1987), which featured the song “Legend” on the compilation The Best of Metal Blade Volume 3 (1988). Their discography includes the studio album Master Control (1988), featuring the vocalist Joe Comeau. The group disbanded in 1990 but returned for a performance at the Wacken Open Air festival (2000) and resumed regular activity in 2012.
