Maria Voskania (born Meri Voskanian on 9 December 1987 in Yerevan, Armenia) is a German pop and schlager singer who grew up in Wasserlosen, Bavaria. After early performances with a children’s radio band, she received classical piano training from her parents and later joined school choirs and the Celtis Big Band. Her first public exposure came through the 2003 Popstars audition and the 2005 Deutschland sucht den Superstar competition, where she placed twelfth. In 2007 she competed in the Armenian pre‑selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, finishing second among nineteen candidates. Voskania released her debut album Vom Ende zum Anfang on 16 November 2007, followed by Lust am Leben on 30 May 2014, which marked her first solo schlager release. Subsequent albums include Perlen Und Gold (18 February 2016), Das Beste (24 March 2017), and Magie (25 August 2017). Her singles "Was Wäre Wenn" (23 October 2015), "Gloria In Excelsis Deo" (18 December 2015), "Gefallener Engel" (2 December 2016), and "Magie" (5 May 2017) received radio play across Germany. She collaborated with Helene Fischer as a background vocalist and toured with her in 2014, later contributing vocals to DJ BoBos’s 2011 Dancing Las Vegas. In 2017 she returned to Deutschland sucht den Superstar, achieving third place.
