Thomas Anders

The German pop and pop singer, music producer, songwriter and TV presenter Thomas Anders was born Bernd Weidung in Mörz on March 1, 1963. Even before leaving school, Thomas Anders was already musically active, recording songs and making his first television appearances. However, his great success only came when he and music producer Dieter Bohlen formed the duo Modern Talking in the fall of 1984 and the song "You're My Heart, You're My Soul" reached number one in the German-language charts almost overnight in January 1985. Until the official separation of Modern Talking in 2003, Thomas Anders continued to launch various solo projects, such as his Spanish album Barcos de Cristal from 1994, which reached number 1 in the charts in Argentina. After numerous gold and platinum records and number one in over 18 countries together with Dieter Bohlen, Thomas Anders initially produces the pop girl duo It-Girls and the girl band No Angels with their song "Cry for You", among others. In 2004, he released his solo album This Time, which was unable to match the success of Modern Talking. Nevertheless, his singles reach the charts in Russia, Turkey and Germany. His album Songs Forever, released in 2006, reached number 46 in the German charts. In the following years, he tried his hand at pop and house music and released Christmas songs. A duet with the German pop singer Sandra was placed in the German singles charts in spring 2009. A new pop/dance album entitled Strong reached number 2 in the Russian charts in 2010. As the Anders/Fahrenkrog duo, the album Two is released in 2011 and reaches number 11 in the German album charts. His first German-language album, entitled Pures Leben, followed in April 2017. A joint project with Schlager star Florian Silbereisen takes Thomas Anders to number 1 in all German-language album charts in 2020 under the title Das Album. After the solo album Cosmic (2021) and the second joint release with Florian Silbereisen, Nochmal (2024), Thomas Anders returned to his musical beginnings as a singer in early 2025 with the album ...sings Modern Talking: The 1st Album. The album reaches number 5 in Germany. In the same year, the singer follows up with another Modern Talking cover album. ...sings Modern Talking: Let's Talk About Love is released in May 2025 and climbs to number 5 in the German charts again and reaches number 7 in Austria. Another album is released in August of the same year. ...sings Modern Talking: In the Middle of Nowhere reaches number 5 in the German charts. The album climbs to number 13 in Austria and number 40 in Switzerland.
