La Severa Matacera is a Colombian musical group formed in Bogotá in 1995 that blends influences of ska, reggae, and funk. Their debut album, Cuando la gente se pare, was released on Hormigaloca Producciones and MTM Records Colombia in 2002. The band received the Best Ska Reggae Band Award from Shock Magazine in 2005. La Severa Matacera toured extensively, performing at venues like House of Blues and festivals such as Rock al Parque in Bogotá and Victoria Ska Fest in Canada. They released several albums including V.I.S.A. (2008) and Paranoia (2011), both under Kalppa Records, and collaborated on the single "Light it Up" with Lafrontino in 2013. The band won multiple awards, including the Videodromo award for Best Ska Video in 2003 and the Tricolrock award for Best Song in 2004.
