Björn Torsten Dörpholz was born in Berlin on August 2, 1983. He is a German rapper, producer and label owner who also performs as Dr. Faustus and Blokkmonsta, among others. Björn Torsten Dörpholz began his musical career in the rap underground at the end of the 1990s and has been shaping the Berlin hip-hop scene since the early 2000s as part of the independent label Hirntot Records, which he co-founded with Tomasz Michaelis. Under the pseudonym Dr. Faustus, he has released numerous albums and singles in which he uses character rap, horrorcore elements and provocative narrative figures. Recurring collaborators include Uzi, Dr. Jekyll, SDBY and other artists from the Hirntot environment. The style of Dr. Faustus moves between hip-hop and rap, often with hard, thematically dark lyrics and elements of horrorcore - a type of rap characterized by violent, shocking imagery. Early releases include the album Dr. Faustus (2008), which comprises 24 tracks and demonstrates the project's style-defining orientation. This was followed in the 2000s by further albums such as Gesichter des Todes (2006) and Auf die harte Tour (2009, partly with SDBY). In the 2010s, Zwei Chirurgen drehen durch 2 (2019) is released together with Dr. Jekyll and in 2021 the album Psycho aktiv. In 2024, Dr. Faustus released the single "Es ist der DOC" and in 2025 the single "Kürbisfratzen platzen" (feat. UZI). The album Ultra Violence with 14 tracks is also released on December 19, 2025.
