Margaret Allison Bonds, born on March 3, 1913 in Chicago, was an American composer and pianist. She received her initial musical training from her mother, Estalla C. Bonds, and later studied piano and composition with William Dawson and Florence Price. In 1932, she won the Wanamaker Prize for her song "Sea Ghost" and made her debut as a pianist at New York's Town Hall. Bonds performed as a pianist and worked as a music educator. Her works include A Dance in Brown for piano and Ballad of the Brown King for tenor, mixed choir, and piano. Margaret Allison Bonds died on April 26, 1972 in Los Angeles.
