Alkbottle, an Austrian hard rock and heavy metal band from Vienna, was formed in 1990 by Roman Gregory and Christian Zitta and initially included bassist Marco Billiani and drummer Alex "Mungo" Brunner. Alkbottle gained attention for their unique cover versions of popular songs translated into the Meidling dialect, notably "Fanta Light", a rendition of AC/DC's "Thunderstruck". The band released several albums, including No Sleep Till Meidling (1993) and Blader, fetter, lauter & a bissl mehr (1994), which earned them a gold record for selling over 25,000 units. In 1998, Alkbottle announced their dissolution, but reunited in 2006 with new guitarist Didi Baumgartner. Subsequent releases include Hier regiert der Rock n' Roll (2008) and Lager Export (2014). On March 2, 2021, Roman Gregory announced the band's definitive dissolution.
