Trapped Under Ice is an American hardcore punk ensemble from Baltimore, Maryland, formed in 2007. They achieved professional recognition for the studio recording Big Kiss Goodnight (2011), which reached number 11 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and was credited with re-popularizing the beatdown hardcore subgenre. The group was established by Justice Tripp and Sam Trapkin and includes the members Jared Carman, Brad Hyra, and Brendan Yates. Their recording career began with the debut extended play Stay Cold (2008) and the debut studio recording Secrets of the World (2009). After performing at the This Is Hardcore Festival in 2013, the ensemble became inactive. They resumed activity in 2015 and released the studio recording Heatwave (2017). The ensemble resumed activity in 2023 following a period of inactivity starting in 2020.
