25 Ta Life, an American New York hardcore band, formed in mid-1991 in Astoria, Queens. Founded by Frank Smarra on bass and Harry Minas on drums, they were soon joined by Fred Mesk on guitar. Their early releases included the EP 25 Ta Life (1994) and Demo 1993. The band's first full show took place at Studio 1 in New Jersey on May 10, 1993, supporting Obituary. Three years later, they released their debut album, Keepin It Real (1996). The band toured extensively in the United States and Europe, opening for notable acts like Agnostic Front and Biohazard. In late 2000, after years of touring, 25 Ta Life disbanded. Rick Healey reformed the band in 2002 with new members, releasing several albums over the next few years. The band eventually stopped releasing new music as rumors of Rick's mental illness spread.
