Randi Laubek, born July 30, 1973, in Voerså, Denmark, is known as a Danish singer and songwriter. She began playing guitar at age eight and writing songs by twelve. At eighteen, she moved to Copenhagen, and two years later she received a record deal from producer Poul Bruun at EMI. Laubek's debut album Ducks and Drakes (1997) earned her three Danish Grammy Awards for Best Album, Best Artist, and Best Songwriter. She released subsequent albums including Almost Gracefully (2000), The Wedding of All Things (2003), Figures of Eight (2005), Sun Quakes (2009) and Inner Seas Outer Fields (2016). Notable singles include "Madness Sadness" (1997) and "Midsummer Flu" (2000). Her music incorporated pop, soul, and jazz. She collaborated on various projects, including contributions to the soundtrack for the film Motello (1998).
