Allan Olsen, born on March 18, 1956, in Grønholt, Vendsyssel, Denmark, is a folk rock musician and singer-songwriter. Inspired by bands like The Who, The Rolling Stones, and The Kinks, Olsen began his musical journey in the 1970s, initially performing in the outskirts of Denmark with a style influenced by Bob Dylan, Bert Jansch, and Randy Newman. In 1983, he joined Dalton, a supergroup trio featuring Lars Lilholt and Johnny Madsen. Olsen signed his first record contract in 1989, releasing his debut album Norlan the same year, which blended British and American rock with lyrical storytelling. His subsequent albums, including Jern (1996) and Sange for Rygere (1998), received critical acclaim and a Danish Grammy for Jern. Olsen continued to experiment with musical styles while maintaining his artistic focus, releasing notable works like Multo Importanto in 2007. In 2013, he released the album Jøwt, sung entirely in dialect.
