Linda "Tui" Tillery, born September 2, 1948 in San Francisco, California, is an American singer and percussionist. She began her professional singing career at age 19 with the Bay Area rock band The Loading Zone. In 1968, she joined The Loading Zone after responding to a classified ad seeking a soul singer. The band's debut album The Loading Zone was released on RCA Records in 1968 and sold about 100,000 copies. Tillery is recognized as a pioneer in women's music, with her second solo album titled Linda Tillery released on Olivia Records in 1977. She has collaborated with notable artists including June Millington, Deidre McCalla, Barbara Higbie, Holly Near, and Margie Adam. Throughout her career, she has been a backing vocalist for mainstream artists such as Santana, Bobby McFerrin, Huey Lewis and the News, and the Turtle Island String Quartet.
