Henrique Luaty da Silva Beirão (born November 19, 1981), performing as Ikonoklasta, is an Angolan hip hop musician and activist from Luanda. Born to a family with ties to the MPLA, Beirão completed his education in Portugal, earning a Bachelor of Science from Plymouth University and a Bachelor of Arts in economics in France. He entered the music scene in 2004 with the group Conjunto Ngonguenha, releasing the album Ngonguenhação. Beirão's solo discography featured the album Ikonodamus (2008). In 2021, he collaborated with Batida as Iqokwe on The Beginning, The Medium, The End, and The Infinite. Beirão gained recognition for his political activism, including a 2011 protest against José Eduardo dos Santos. In 2015, he was arrested for discussing the book Ferramentas para destruir o ditador.... Following a 36-day hunger strike, his sentence was reduced, and he was released in 2016.
