Captain Ahab was an electronic music duo from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1998 by Jonathan Snipes and Jim Merson. Known for a DIY approach to jumpstyle and electropop termed "ravesploitation," the group released the 12-inch Bot Pirate in 2002. In 2006, their song "Snakes on the Brain" was included on the soundtrack for the film Snakes on a Plane. The duo's final album, The End of Irony, was released in 2010. Captain Ahab played their last show at The Smell in Los Angeles on November 2, 2012.
